Many popular saints venerated in Luxembourg can be found as patron saints of the churches in the Luxembourg settlements:

St. Donatus, Jackson Co. IA, The patron saint of the parish of the same name is a martyr and protector against lightning and storm. An important concern of farmers and winegrowers.

Holy Cross, the Luxembourg villages and parishes in Dubuque Co, IA and Ozaukee Co. For Ozaukee County many immigrants came from the area along the Belgian Luxembourg border (prior to 1839 all this belonged to Luxembourg) In that provenance area two parish churches are under the vocable of the Holy Cross: Messancy and Arlon had a Holy Cross chapel, the parish church of Nothomb was dedicated to the Holy Cross.

St. Henry’s parish on the ridge north of Chicago is a major settlement center of Luxembourgers. St. Henry (973-1024) was elected king in 1002 and crowned emperor of the Holy Roman Empire in 1014, his wife Ste Cunegonde was the daughter of Siegfied, the first count of Luxembourg.

St. Nicholas, in Dacada on the border line of Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties, a very popular saint in Luxembourg especially among the children. A shrine in front of the church houses a life size statue of the saint and the Luxembourg crest.
